The volume of the construction work in Azerbaijan increased by 42.5 percent in January 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, State Statistics Committee told Trend on Monday.
Including, the volume of construction work conducted by state-owned companies hit 28.1 percent of the total volume of the work, while by private companies -71.9 percent.
Some 75.9 percent of the total volume of construction work accounted for the initial construction, renovation and expansion, 13.8 percent for the major repairs, 3.2 percent for the current repairs, 7.1 percent for the other construction work.
Some 77,500 people were involved in construction work in 2011, nominal wages in the construction sector amounted to 518.9 manat in 2011, increasing by 2.6 percent compared to 2010. The salary in state-owned construction companies amounted to 402.2 manat (increase by 10.8 percent during the year), private companies - 603.5 manat (decrease of 3.9 percent).
Nominal wages in large and medium-sized construction companies amounted to 550.7 manat. The level of wages in the construction of buildings declined by 2.7 percent, up to 529 manat, increased by 11.7 percent, up to 628.3 manat in specialized construction, in areas of civil construction wages increase by nine percent, up to 348.4 manat in 2011.
