Work completed on general plans for some Azerbaijani cities

The State Committee for City Building and Architecture in Azerbaijan will present a draft of the general plan for the city of Sheki to the Cabinet of Ministers in April, committee official Dovletkhan Dovletkhanov told Trend on Monday.
"The Committee has finalized the general plan of the city, now the process of aligning it with the appropriate government agencies is implemented. Document mainly aims to develop the tourist potential of a large city," Dovletkhanov said.
Dovletkhanov noted that work on the general plan of the city of Ganja is also completed.
"The process of harmonization of the document has just begun. We have to hand it to the government before the end of the year" Dovletkhanov said.
In addition, he said, general plans for Sumgayit, Khirdalan, Balakian and Neftchala cities are preparing.
Azerbaijan need to develop general plans for 50 cities, Committee Chairman Abbas Alasgarov told Trend previously.
"Work on 21 general plans of the district center is completed by order
of the State Committee" Aleskerov said.
