Korea willing to continue contributing to Central Asia’s development

Korea expressed its willingness to contribute to the development of the region through the expansion of technological and personnel exchanges, cooperation in exchanging experience in economic development with Central Asian countries to implement programs of diversification of industry during the 6th Forum on Cooperation 'The Republic of Korea - Central Asia", the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

The forum, held on Thursday in Seoul, was attended by government delegations from Korea, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

Forum participants expressed their appreciation to bilateral and multilateral cooperation, which since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992 has been developing and expanding, covering a wide range of political, socio-economic and cultural interaction.

Representatives of Korea and the Central Asian countries agreed that the forum plays an important role as a platform for practical cooperation projects between Korea and the countries of Central Asia and can be an effective mechanism to strengthen the diverse cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

During the 6th Forum a constructive exchange of views on "green technologies", medicine and health, designed to ensure the steady growth of Korea and the Central Asian states, was made. Forum participants expressed their unanimous opinion that the discussion of issues of cooperation in these areas has been very helpful in finding ways of future co-prosperity.

The parties agreed that they will make every effort to further expand and deepen cooperation in all areas of diverse cooperation. The Central Asian countries welcomed the initiative of Korea to support the programs of diversification of industry and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
