Uzbekistan increases crude ethyl alcohol production

Uzbekistan has increased crude ethyl alcohol production by 4.7 percent to 2.805 million dal in January-July 2012 compared to the same period last year, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said today.

Vodka and liqueur production has increased by 5.4 percent to 5.908 million dal, cognac by 37.6 percent to 56,600 dal, wine by 17 percent to 1.14 million dal, and champagne by 47 percent to 36,400 dal since early 2011.

Beer production in the first half of the year declined by 23.4 percent - up to 10.193 million dal.

According to the official statistics, Uzbekistan increased production of crude ethyl alcohol by 3 percent up to 5.455 million dal in 2011 compared to 2010, vodka and alcoholic beverages - by 5.6 percent to 11.366 million dal, cognac - 25 percent to 95,800 dal, wine - by 1.1 percent to 2.117 million dal, champagne - by 1.5 percent to 120,200 dal. Beer production fell by 7.2 percent to 23.236 million dal.
