As part of sterilization operations in the first half of 2012 the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) issued the notes worth 940 million manat. Of them notes worth 605 million manat were put up for auction and issued, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said in its report on the monetary policy in the first half of 2012.
"Yield on the notes was 1.38 percent at the last auction, whereas at the beginning of the year this figure was at 2.84 percent," the report says.
As of July 1, the volume of notes in circulation amounted to 89.9 million manat. Volume of repo operations with the notes decreased by 8.2 percent in the first half and amounted to 37.6 million manat.
The official exchange rate is 0.7854 manat to $1 on Aug.10.
