Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Aug. 17/ Trend H.Hasanov /

Turkish Cotam Enterprises, which is a long-term partner of Turkmenistan, has offered new projects for consideration, an official Turkmen source said on Wednesday.

The presentation was attended by the company's head Muammer Agym at a high level recent working visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Turkey.

The information says project of construction of shipyard and its master plan was presented first of all.

Turkmenistan last year announced a tender of the technical consultant to develop the conceptual project of the shipbuilding base in the Turkmenbashi international seaport, followed by the technical supervision of construction works.

The need for construction of shipyard is associated with an increase in traffic by sea, and the fact that the Turkmenbashi seaport is becoming a major transit point in the system of foreign economic relations.

Turkmenistan in recent years has begun to form its own tanker fleet, ships are purchased in Russia and the Baltics.

All of them are used for traffic along the Caspian coast, delivering crude oil from the Turkmen ports of Aladja and Ekerem to oil terminal in the village of Kenar.

The large-scale reconstruction of the Turkmenbashi sea port, is underway. On the Caspian Sea coast, the Avaza resort area is being formed, which the authorities declared a free economic zone.

The source reported that Cotam Enterprises has also submitted a draft of an e-document management health system.
