Kazakh Economic Development Ministry forecasts 6 percent GDP growth in 2013

Kazakhstan's GDP growth is expected to hit 6 percent level in 2013, Kazakh prime minister's press-service quoted Kazakh Economic Development and Trade Minister Republic Bakytzhan Sagintayev as saying.

"According to the forecasts, real GDP growth in Kazakhstan will hit 6 percent in 2013, 6.1 percent in 2014, 7.6 percent in 2015, 6.6 percent in 2016, 6.9 percent in 2017," Sagintayev said at the government meeting on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Kazakh Government and Kazakh National Bank forecasted GDP growth at the level of 6-7 percent in 2013.

According to the Kazakh Statistics Agency, GDP growth in Kazakhstan amounted to 5.6 percent in January-June 2012.

The annual inflation rate is expected at 6-8 percent in 2013-2017, Sagintayev said.

The Kazakh Government and the Kazakh National Bank forecasted 6-8 percent inflation in 2012. In January - June 2012, inflation hit 2.7 percent in Kazakhstan.
