The turnover of the Batumi Sea Port (BSP) reached a record volume and made more than 207,000 tons of dry cargo in August which is the highest result in the history of the port.
The production programme plan was exceeded by more than 85,500 tons (70 per cent), The BSP administration told Trend.
BSP's basic goods demonstrated maximum growth. Hence the over-fulfilment of the plan - the raw sugar by 91 per cent and ammonium nitrate, 100 per cent. Growth was also observed in general cargo (58 per cent).
Transit remains the leader in the direction of transhipped cargo through BSP (38 per cent).Some 66 vessels were processed during the period.
