Kyrgyzstan has 36 problematic deposits, KyrTAG reported on Tuesday with reference to the head of Kyrgyz Agency on Geology and Mineral Resources Ishenbay Chunuyev.
The problems with the deposits occur as a result of the conflict with local people or implementation of licensing agreements, he said.
Around 16 of the total number of the deposits are situated in Zhalal-Abad and Narin oblasts.
Other deposits are in Talass, Issik-Kul, Chuy, Osh and Bastken oblasts.
Chunuyev stressed that the problems on the deposits are closely connected with the political situation in the country.
