The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) has signed a cooperation agreement with the international payment system Diners Club in Baku today.
By signing this agreement the IBA has expanded the list of international payment systems, which cards will be issued by the bank in the Azerbaijani market. At present, the bank cooperates with Visa International, MasterCard and American Express.
"We are pleased to work with Diners Club," IBA First Deputy Chairman Emil Mustafayev said at the signing ceremony. "As a result, the cards of the first international payment system will be represented in Azerbaijan."
Diners Club Director for Europe and the Middle East Jean Fransua Paul said that he was glad to work with Azerbaijani leading bank. The payment system is ready to provide support.
Diners Club is the world's first company that started working with plastic cards. The company was founded on January 28, 1950 by Frank McNamara, Alfred Bloomingdale, and Ralph Schneider. Diners Club International was sold for $ 165 million to Discover Financial Services on July 1, 2008.
