Turkey has called on the Black Sea countries to increase the rates of customs duties on imports of tobacco products, Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek was quoted on Monday by the newspaper Hurriyet as saying.
Turkey feels that such countries as Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Greece must increase taxation of tobacco products to reduce the smuggling of the product.
Simsek also said that Antalya will host the first International Tax Forum in November. The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation member states will attend.
