In 2013, Turkey forecasts an increase in tourism revenue up to $25.5 billion, the Turkish Finance Ministry's report published on its official website on Monday says.
It is expected that 33 million tourists will visit Turkey in 2013.
According to the report, in 2013, the number of Turkish citizens who will travel abroad will reach 6.4 million. This means Turkey's tourism expenditure will amount to $4.4 billion.
The country plans to develop such industries as active tourism and ecotourism to expand the country's tourist offer.
Special measures will be taken in the cities of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya, Mugla, Hatay, Gaziantep and Van to attract more tourists, as well as measures to improve the quality of tourism services and lower prices.
