Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov. 5 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /

The striking workers at the Georgian port of Poti on the Black Sea coats are not going to resume work until the port management meets their demands. The port of Poti has been paralysed by 70 per cent strike for the fifth day already.

According to the statement made by the Strike Coordinating Committee on Monday, representatives of only one organisation agreed to fulfil the demand to raise wage, and it was only in words.

"The strike is in nobody's interest. We again call the port management to a constructive dialogue. One of the most strategic sites in Georgia has been blocked for four days. We can imagine what damage it does to everyone, including us," committee member Gocha Cheminava said to InterpressNews on Monday.

The general strike at the port of Poti began on November 1. So far, fleet staff, groups of reservists and loaders of the port refuse to work.
