The agricultural production growth exceeded 6 percent in Azerbaijan in 2012, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismet Abbasov told media today.
"As of 11 months of 2012, agricultural production increased by 5.7 percent," he said. "There is not official data as of the year, but one say preliminary that the growth hit 6-7 percent."
He added that in general, the six-percent growth is a good index.
"However, taking into account the conditions for the agrarian sector development, created in Azerbaijan, and the potential of agriculture in the country, this growth must be higher" he said. "In the coming years, we expect a significant increase in the rate of agricultural production growth."
