The level of the non-observed economy in Azerbaijan decreased in 2012 compared to 2011.
Chairman of Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee Arif Veliyev made this statement at a press conference on the results of last year.
"In 2011, the share of the non-observed economy in the country's GDP reached nine per cent, bur in 2012 this figure dropped. This cannot be called the 'shadow' economy. It refers to the production of goods and services, where we cannot account, for example, tutoring, home production and so on," Veliyev said.
