Ukrainian company to build bridges in Turkmenistan

Turkmen Ministry of Railway Transport plans to conclude a contract with Ukrainian LLC Altcom Road Construction, an official Turkmen source said.

The transaction is approved by Turkmen President. The matter rests in the design and construction of a 1750 meters long railway bridge between Turkmenabat and Farap over Amu Darya.

It is expected that the construction work will begin in February 2013 and be completed in February 2016. The project's implementation will meet the goals for development of railway transport industry, construction of railway lines and railway bridges in line with international standards, increasing the volume and improving the quality of freight and passenger services, as well as ensuring transportation safety.

Another presidential decree approved a contract between the Turkmenavtoyollary state concern (Turkmen roads) and Ukrainian LLC Altcom for design and construction of a 1600 meters long and 21 meters wide highway bridge between Turkmenabat and Farap over Amu Darya river with implementation of coastal fortification work, provision of entry and exit roads and external lead circuits.

Commencement of construction work is scheduled for February 2013. The facility is planned to be commissioned in August 2016.
