Turkey's industrial production index (IPI) increased by 1.9 percent in Jan. 2013 and hit 110 points compared to the same month in 2012, the Turkish Statistics Institute said in a report posted on its website today.
In Jan., the IPI increased by 2.3 percent compared to the previous month.
In Jan, the Turkish IPI increased in mining by 3.6 percent, while in processing, it decreased by 3.2 percent. In electricity generation and distribution it increased by 3.2 percent.
The highest rate of the index was observed in the energy sector. In Jan., it increased by 13 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
