Iran crude steel output hits 2.3 million tons in first two months of 2013

The latest statistics released by the World Steel Association shows that Iran has produced 2.31 million tons of crude steel in the first two months of 2013.

The country ranked the world's 15th largest crude steel producer in the mentioned period.

Iran's crude steel output in February stood at 1.199 million tons, which is 2.5 per cent less than the same period previous year.

Some 123 million tons of crude steel was produced across the globe in the first two months of the current year.

The figure shows a 1.2-percent increase compared to the same period of previous year.

China's crude steel output stood at 61.8 million tons in the two-month time span, or 9.8 per cent more than previous year.
