In March 2014, CJSC Azerbaijan Railways working under the state programme for the development of railroad transport will complete the reconstruction and modernisation of the Baku-Boyuk Kesik railway section, head of Azerbaijan Railways Arif Asgarov told journalists on Thursday.
According to him, the work is continuing and over 200 kilometres out of the total 317 kilometres of the Baku-Boyuk Kesik section reconstruction which was stipulated has already been repaired.
"The continuation of this section's modernisation will be considered after the completion of this work," Asgarov said.
Overhaul of the 317 km of Baku-Boyuk Kesik railroad section is being carried out under a $215 million loan provided by the Czech Exim Bank.
The work started on June 10, 2011 from the 97th kilometre of the Aghstafa-Tatli railway.
