Seven industrial enterprises of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria of the Russian Federation have submitted a proposal on possible cooperation with Azerbaijani companies that provide for the delivery of finished products as well as the establishment of joint ventures, the Azerbaijan Fund for Export and Investment Promotion's (AZPROMO) report published on Thursday on its website said.
Cooperation with some of these companies has already been established, while negotiations with others are underway. In the second half of 2012, the Kavkazkabel Cable Factory JSC has already manufactured and shipped submersible cables worth 11,743 million roubles to Azerbaijani companies. The factory also supplies colour and copper rods and is ready to purchase aluminium rods to Azerbaijan.
The issue of cooperation between Sevkavrentgen-D LLC and the Sumgait Technology Park is currently under negotiation. In order to strengthen links, the company plans to participate in the 19th Azerbaijan International Healthcare Exhibition which will be held in Baku on September 26-28, 2013.
Russian-Italian joint enterprise ALITATEK to be commissioned in June 2013, offers implementation of high-tech greenhouse projects for tomato cultivation using a hydroponic method in Azerbaijan. The company will monitor and control each stage of the implementation of high-tech greenhouse projects that can cover an area from two to 50 hectares. The joint venture is ready to design greenhouses especially for vegetable cultivation and processing of products in accordance with the 'guartagamma' system. Among the proposals is the creation of greenhouse heating systems using heat from alternative sources.
In turn, Telemekhanika JSC is implementing a pilot project to install LED traffic lights jointly with the Ministry of Transport and technical services of Azerbaijan.
Stroymash LLC is offering to assist with the supply of plastic containers for the storage of fruits and vegetables to Azerbaijan, whereas Terekalmaz LLC is ready to offer a wide range of diamond tools, including drilling tools and dresser and stone processing building tools.
Russian companies also offer Azerbaijan the possibility of a joint venture in Kabardino-Balkaria for bottling drinking and mineral water. Companies from Kabardino-Balkaria are ready to expand exports of confectionery.
The organisation of visits of Azerbaijani delegations to the modern enterprises of Kabardino-Balkaria on milk processing (Nalchik Dairy Combine LLC) and poultry (Veles-Agro LLC) are being offered in terms of an exchange of experience.
The possibility of attracting investors from Azerbaijan to invest in the Nalchik resort complex for major repairs or construction of a modern health centre is also under consideration.
"Given that 25-30 years ago, more than 30 per cent of those resting in our health centres (about 20,000-25,000 people) were Azerbaijanis, we believe that the restoration or construction of a sanatorium with 250-300 beds will set a good example of cooperation between neighbouring countries based on mutual benefit," according to proposals from the companies from Kabardino-Balkaria.
As part of the interchange of vacationers, the Kabardino-Balkar Republic is ready to receive nearly 2000 people on a monthly basis for convalescence and treatment purposes.
