Turkey intends to establish two free economic zones in the Jordanian provinces of Aqaba and Al Mafraq, Dunya newspaper reported today.
According to the report, the decision was taken during Jordan's King Abdullah Bin Hussein's visit to Turkey in March this year.
After the free trade zones are established, the Turkish companies operating in them will benefit.
Turkish companies that will operate in the free economic zones will be able to take advantage of other trade related benefits in the Middle East and North Africa. After the free trade zones are established, Turkish investments in Jordan will increase to $1 billion in the short term.
