The World Bank (WB) forecasts GDP growth at 4.8 per cent in Azerbaijan in 2013, the WB report 'Global Economic Prospects' stated on Friday.
The WB forecast a GDP growth of two per cent in Azerbaijan in 2012, whereas according to the State Statistics Committee, the country's economy increased by 2.2 per cent in 2012. As of January-May 2013, the country's economy increased by 4.5 per cent.
According to the report, the WB expects a gross production growth of 4.8 per cent in Azerbaijan in 2014 and 2.9 per cent in 2015.
According to WB forecasts, the ratio of the current account surplus to GDP is expected to reach 13.6 per cent in 2013, 11.9 per cent in 2014 and 9.4 per cent in 2015. According to the bank's estimates, the ratio hit 21.7 per cent in 2012.
