A meeting of foreign ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member-states will be held in Tehran in three weeks, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was quoted by Iran's media as saying.
According to Mohammad Javad Zarif, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will visit Iran to participate in the meeting, as well as to strengthen the bilateral cooperation.
"The basis of Iran's foreign policy is the development of comprehensive relations with neighboring countries, especially in the political, economic and cultural fields," the message said.
ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey. It delivers a platform for the promotion of economic, technical and cultural cooperation among the member-states.
The organization was expanded in 1992, by accepting Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
