Iran to give $12,000 in loans to rebuild houses damaged after Bushehr earthquake

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: The housing foundation of Iran's Bushehr province will pay 300 million rials (about $12,000) to each family to rebuild the houses destroyed during the recent earthquake in the province, IRNA quoted the foundation's director Ebrahim Farzaneh as saying on Dec.4.

The loans will be paid to rebuild or renovate houses which were fully destroyed or partly damaged, he added.

Fifty million rials of the loan will be paid ex gratia, he noted.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on Richter scale was felt in all regions of the Iranian province of Bushehr on Nov. 28.

Bushehr Governor Fereidoun Hassanvand said the earthquake killed eight people, and injured 60.

"Three persons are in critical condition, 130 people got medical care", Hassanvand said.

He also said the earthquake destroyed and damaged homes of a lot of people.
