Georgian government allocates funds for selling citrus fruits

The Georgian government allocated 12 million lari ($ 1 = 1.73 lari) to Adjara's government for selling citrus fruits. The funds are allocated from the government's reserve fund.

The Adjara's government has allocated 1.8 million lari to subsidize non-standard tangerine size. The purchase of standard citrus fruits will be financed through the funds allocated by the central government.

According to the Adjara's government, some 40,000 tons of citrus fruits were exported, including 11,800 tons to Russia. Around 50,000-60,000 more tons are planned to be exported by late 2013.
