The investment volume in the Kazakhstan Engineering National Company has hit 25 billion tenge (over $162.23 million) in the last three years, chairman of the company's board Bolat Smagulov said at an enlarged meeting of the heads of subsidiaries and affiliated companies in Astana on Friday.

"An investment volume has amounted to 25 billion tenge in the whole group of companies in the last three years," he said. "The transfer of investments exceeded $ 200 million. Some 80 million tenge ($ 1 = 153.8 tenge) were spent on research."

"In general, the company achieved all planned results," he said. "This was reflected in the 'Stable' rating by Fitch Ratings to Kazakhstan Engineering.

"We launched two investment projects in 2013," he said. "The first project is to commission the plant of optoelectronic devices Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering, the second one - the modernization of Semey Engineering's production. Both companies are unique and have an important role in strengthening the country's defensive capacity."

"The company paid taxes in the amount of about 16.5 million tenge to the national budget for only three years," he said.

"A group of companies will have great challenges in 2014," he said. "Primarily, the company's enterprises will take part in the future expansion of the Tengiz project in terms of civil engineering."
