Utility tariffs to increase in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, March 15
By Demir Azizov- Trend:

Tariffs for central heating and hot water supply will rise by 11.7 per cent, and cold water supply - by 10.5 percent as of April 1, Tashteploenergo Production Association and state-owned enterprise Trust Suvsoz reported.

Particularly, the monthly rate for central heating will increase from the present 705.42 soums to 787.95 soums per square meter of living space.

Tariff for hot water in the presence of the counter will be 2524.99 soums per cubic meter (at present - 2260.51 soums per cubic meter), while in the absence of metering device - 9860.67 soums per person per month compared to 8827.81 soums earlier.

The new tariffs for water services in multistory residential houses in payment on counter will rise to 294 soum per cubic meter of water compared to the current 266 soums ( without hot water supply - 212 soums), but in private houses, equipped with the sanitation - 212 soums compared to 193 soums ( without sanitation - 130 soums).

Since the beginning of this year an order in Uzbekistan in accordance to which the payment for the hot and cold water in a residential area, not equipped with metering devices, is carried out with application of 1.5 multiplying factor to set tariffs.

In the absence of metering devices in the residential areas where no one is registered, payment for services is carried out by the norms of consumption with the application of multiplying factor of 1.5 to the rates per person - in one and two- room accommodation, for two people - in the three rooms, for three people in a four-room and four people - a five-room accommodation.

The previous tariffs increase for these kinds of utilities was held in last October when tariffs for central heating and hot water supply increased by 6.4 percent, on cold water supply - by 3.5 percent.

Official exchange rate on March 15 is 2243.49 soums / $ 1.
