Fodder corn price has increased in Iran as imports from Ukraine have been halted.
During the past month, fodder corn price has increased by 30 percent due to the halt of imports from Ukraine, Iran's Tasnim news agency quoted an official at Iran's ministry of agriculture as saying on April 12.
Currently, fodder corn is being imported from Brazil, the official added.
Fodder corn is the main feedstock for chicken breeding.
Iran's non-oil exports witnessed nearly half-a-percent growth while the country's imports dropped around five percent in the previous Persian calendar year (ended on March 20, 2014), Press TV reported on April 6.
The value of Iran's non-oil exports, including gas condensates, reached $41.628 billion, showing a total rise of 0.43 percent, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) said on April 12.
The growth in Iran's exports took place mainly during the later months of the previous year.
Meanwhile, Iran's imports reached $50.818 billion during the same period, showing a 4.92 percent fall compared to the previous year.
Iran's major exported products included liquefied propane, pitch and methanol with the country's key export destinations being China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India and Afghanistan.
Iran's main imported items were vehicles, rice, press cake, corn for livestock and wheat with main import origins being the UAE, China, India, South Korea and Turkey, according to the IRICA's data.
