Uzbek insurance companies increased the collection of insurance premiums on vehicle owners' compulsory civil liability insurance by 32.2 percent, up to 59.138 billion soums in January-September 2014 compared to the same period of 2013, the Uzbek finance ministry said.
During this period the amount of payments on the vehicle owners' compulsory civil liability insurance was 7.54 billion soums, which is 28.9 percent more than in January-September of 2013, a statement says.
Nine insurance companies - Uzagrosugurta State Joint-Stock Insurance Company, Kafolat company, Uzbekinvest National Export-Import Insurance Company, Kapital Sugurta JSC, Alskom JSC, Alfa Invest JSC, Asia Insurance JSC, Universal Sugurta JSC and Inter-bank company Ishonch render the services on the vehicle owners' compulsory civil liability insurance in Uzbekistan.
The Uzbek insurance companies have concluded about 1.936 million contracts on vehicle owners' compulsory civil liability insurance (a 15 percent growth) with total insurance liabilities in the amount of 15.338 trillion soums (a 49.3 percent growth) since early 2014, a statement said.
Uzagrosugurta (19.926 billion soums), Kafolat (12.384 billion soums) and Alfa Invest (5.955 billion soums) were in the lead in the volume of premiums on vehicle owners' compulsory civil liability insurance collected in January-September.
Among the companies transferring big payments in the reporting period are Uzagrosugurta (1.676 billion soums), Kafolat (1.518 billion soums) and Kapital Sugurta (1.359 billion soums).
At present, around 31 insurance companies with an aggregate authorized capital in the amount of 339.777 billion soums work in Uzbekistan.
Uzbek insurers increased the collection of insurance premiums by 29 percent up to 316.559 billion soums in January-September 2014 compared to the same period of last year, including voluntary insurance - 25 percent (up to 218.814 billion soums), compulsory insurance - 38 percent (up to 97.745 billion soums).
Uzbek insurers' aggregate payments reduced by five percent - up to 49.197 billion soums in January-September. The voluntary insurance payments reduced by 21 percent - up to 30.197 billion soums, compulsory insurance - increased by 41 percent (about 19 billion soums).
The Uzbek insurers increased the collection of premiums by 32.1 percent up to 338.483 billion soums in 2013 compared to 2012. The volume of payments increased by 53.4 percent - to 66.92 billion soums.
The official exchange rate is 2383.98 soums /$1 Oct. 31.
