There is a huge potential for Azerbaijan's investments in the copper and zinc mines located in Iran's provinces bordering Azerbaijan, the member of the Iranian parliament's mines and industries commission Ali Alilou told Trend during his visit to Baku.
"There are favorable conditions for Azerbaijan's investments in the Cheshmekonan field in Shebustar town and Sungun field in Varzegan town located in the province of East Azerbaijan," he said.
Alilou also noted that Turkey and Russia have already made investments in the mentioned mines.
Noting that Iran has recently shown great attention to the area of mines, Alilou said there are also opportunities to invest in mining of iron deposits in the provinces of Yazd, Kerman, Kurdistan, as well as in the coal fields, located in the north-eastern Iranian province of Razavi Khorasan.
