Polyethylene production increases by over third in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan produced 10,100 metric tons of polyethylene in January, which is 36.2 percent more than in the same period of 2014, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said in its report as of January.

Around 1,250 metric tons of propylene were produced in Azerbaijan in January, which is 29.6 percent more than in the same period of 2014, according to the report.

The country produced 20 metric tons of iodine in January, or 14.3 percent more than in the same period of 2014.

However, Azerbaijan saw decrease in the production of other major types of chemical products in January.

The country produced 2,000 metric tons of solid polyethylene pipes, tubes and hoses, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period of 2014.
