"Turkmen Hemrasy" ("Turkmen satellite") closed joint stock company has been founded to render the satellite communication services in Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan said April 10.
The relevant decree was signed by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the statement said.
The Ministry of Communications (with a 99 percent share in the authorized capital) and
Turkmentelekom State Telecommunications Company under the ministry (with a 0.5 percent share in the authorized capital) will be the founders of the closed joint stock company in accordance with the decree.
The Turkmen Ministry of Economy and Development has been charged with the state registration of the new closed joint stock company in the prescribed manner in accordance with the document.
Turkmenistan will launch its first telecommunication satellite TurkmenAlem 520E in the first half of 2015. The National Satellite Control Center is located in the Ahal province of the country.
Turkmenistan's satellite is being built by the French Thales Alenia Space. The satellite will be launched by the US SpaceX company from Cape Canaveral.
The satellite will cover a part of Europe, Africa and Asia and will allow Turkmenistan to make a significant breakthrough in the sphere of telecommunications and other applications such as the Internet and mobile communications.
