The number of employees of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has exceeded 12.000 abroad, Khalik Mammadov, the company's vice-president for personnel, regime and information technologies, said.
He made the remarks during the Caspian Technical Conference being held in Baku Nov.6.
In order to implement such large-scale projects as the Southern Gas Corridor, OGPC [project for creating new gas processing and petrochemical complex], SOCAR Polymer, Star refinery and other projects, SOCAR needs to attract more young personnel, according to Mammadov.
He pointed out that five educational centers operate under SOCAR which will play a significant role in improving the qualifications of the employees.
"These centers have been significantly modernized recently. There are over 500 training courses which allow to achieve good results in personnel training," Mammadov added.
