Kazakhstan, Iran to co-op in exploring base metals

Kazakhstan and Iran will cooperate in exploration of base metals, copper and iron, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Investments and Development said.
The remarks were made following the meeting with representatives of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation and Iranian companies.
Iranian mining companies showed interest in new air-and ground-based geophysical technologies (VTEM, ZTEM, AMT + MT) used by Kazakhstan's Kazgeology JSC and expressed readiness to consider the possibilities of involving Kazakh specialists in geophysical research in Iran.
Kazakh geologists plan to travel to Iran in early 2016. Iranian side for its part expressed readiness to invest in exploration of base metals, cooper and iron in Kazakhstan.
