Kazakh millionaire Kenes Rakishev, ranking tenth in the list of the richest people of Kazakhstan according to Forbes, became the owner of a controlling stake in one of the Kazakh largest banks - Kazkommertsbank, the bank said Dec. 29.

Earlier, Rakishev was the owner of 28.67 percent of the shares of the bank. He became the owner of additional 28.08 percent of ordinary shares after acquiring their owner - Alnair Capital Holding. As a result, his share in the bank increased to 56.75 percent. The acquisition deal has been completed.

Other shareholders are the "Central Asian Investment Company" (23.27 percent stake), Kazakh millionaire Nurzhan Subkhanberdin (5.99 percent of the shares, but taking into account the shares owned indirectly through the "Central Asian Investment Company" - 26.28 percent), Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna joint-stock company (10.72 percent) and the minority shareholders (3.27 percent).

Kazkommertsbank is one of the largest banks in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The net profit of the bank amounted to 23.7 billion tenge in 2014 (the exchange rate as of December 29 was 331.38 tenge = $ 1).
