Uzbek insurance companies increased insurance premium collection by 26.5 percent up to 551.5 billion soums in 2015 compared to 2014, the Uzbek finance ministry said March 3.
As of March 3, the official exchange rate is 2856.64 soums /$ 1.

The amount of premiums collected on voluntary types of insurance increased by 21 percent up to 364.8 billion soums. The amount of premiums collected on obligatory types of insurance increased by 35 percent up to 186.7 billion soums.

Aggregate payments of Uzbek insurers increased by 49 percent - up to 111 billion soums in 2015. The payments on voluntary types of insurance increased by 48 percent - up to 67.2 billion soums, while on compulsory types of insurance - by 49 percent up to 43.8 billion soums.

Uzbek insurance companies' investments exceeded 758.1 billion soums in 2015 or by 22 percent more than in 2014. The deposits amounted to 355 billion soums (a 21 percent growth), securities - 300.2 billion soums (a 20 percent growth), loans - 7.6 billion soums (a 13 percent growth), real estate - 38.8 billion soums (a 39 percent growth), investments in the authorized funds of enterprises - 50.4 billion soums (a 16 percent growth), other investments - 6.2 billion soums (an increase by 5.3 times) in a total investment volume.

The total authorized capital of insurance companies increased by 16 percent up to 420.7 billion soums in 2015.

Currently, some 31 insurance companies are working on the insurance market of Uzbekistan, including three life insurance companies and 28 general insurance companies.
