Nigar Mammadova has been appointed as deputy head of Azerbaijan's Financial Market Supervisory Body according to a decree of the country's President Ilham Aliyev, a message released by the body said March 29.

Earlier, Mammadova worked as the director of Market Operations Department at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree in February 2016 on establishment of Financial Market Supervisory Body.

The body was created for the purpose of licensing, regulating and controlling activities of the market of securities, investment funds, insurance and credit institutions (banks, non-bank credit institutions, postal operator) and payment systems.
