Imran Mammadov has been appointed the head of the Banking Activity Supervision Department at Azerbaijan’s Financial Market Supervisory Body, according to the Supervisory Body’s decision.

Meanwhile, Asim Zulfugarov has become the deputy to the CEO and to the director of the Strategic Services Department.

Earlier, Mammadov and Zulfugarov performed the above-mentioned duties temporarily.

President Ilham Aliyev decreed in February 2016 to establish the Financial Market Supervisory Body.

The Supervisory Body was created for the purpose of licensing, regulating and controlling activities of the securities market, investment funds, insurance and credit institutions (banks, non-bank credit organizations, postal operator) and payment systems.
