Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 21
By Anvar Mammadyarov – Trend:
Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee has proposed to impose customs duty on the fur export from the country, said the committee head Aydin Aliyev.
He made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Caspian European Club Sept. 21.
Aliyev said this proposal has already been sent to the government.
“This proposal is under discussion in the government and I believe it will be adopted in the near future,” he said. “As we don’t have fur processing enterprises, entrepreneurs export the raw material without paying customs duties.”
“There are also similar proposals regarding the export of agriculture products and construction materials. Their prime cost in Azerbaijan is quite low. Therefore, many entrepreneurs export them. Export duties will make it possible to protect the domestic market,” added Aydin Aliyev.
