TRACECA to help boost trade between China, Europe

The Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce to ensure goods supply from China to Europe, said IGC Permanent Secretariat’s Secretary General Mircea Ciopraga.

Ciopraga made the remarks Nov. 16 at the Infrastructure, Power and Renewable Energy Investment Conference in Baku.

“We proposed to sign a memorandum with the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce in order to increase the volume of trade turnover between China and Europe,” he said. “It will be a new phase in providing more favorable conditions for the supply of goods from China to Europe.”

TRACECA is an international cooperation program in the sphere of transport among the EU and partner-countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.

TRACECA member-states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Iran.
