Fuel and energy products still accounts for the majority of Kazakhstan’s export. However their share in the country’s export is decreasing.
In 2016 fuel and energy products accounted for 60.7 percent of all Kazakhstan’s export or $22.33 billion, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee’s data. In 2015 export of fuel and energy products hit $31.12 billion or 67.7 percent of all export from the country.
As much as 16.7 percent of Kazakhstan’s export or almost $6.16 billion fell on metals and products from metals in 2016. In 2015 Kazakhstan exported metals and metals products in the amount of $6.01 billion (13.1 percent of all export).
Moreover Kazakhstan exported products of the chemical industry worth $2.65 billion (7.2 percent of all export) and food products worth $2.13 billion (5.8 percent of all export). In 2015 export of products of chemical industry hit almost $3.36 billion (7.3 percent of all export) and export of food products – $2.14 billion (4.6 percent of all export).
Kazakh exported almost $36.78 billion in 2016 compared to $45.96 billion in 2015.
