By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend:

Turkey is interested in expansion of electronic commerce, which will be taken under special control of the Ministry of Finance, a source in the ministry told Trend.

The main goal in the strengthening of control over payments in e-commerce is to eliminate tax evasion.

"In this regard, a special platform will be created through which the process of purchase and sale will be tracked online," the source said.

"Large companies engaged in online trade, have repeatedly appealed to the Ministry of Finance regarding the opening of their branches in Turkey, which, in turn, makes it necessary to create a special tax service."

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, there are 48 million internet users in the country, and 43 percent of them daily engage in online trading.
