Reserves of Azerbaijani banks increase

As of September 1, 2017, bank reserves totaled 3.03 billion manats in Azerbaijan, increasing by 41.6 percent (2.14 billion manats) as compared to August 2016.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), as of late August 2017, the expanded monetary base amounted to 10.66 billion manats in the country (an increase by 25.7 percent as compared to late August 2016). This figure was 8.48 billion manats as of August 2016.

As of September 1, 2017, monetary base totaled 8.47 billion manats in Azerbaijan as compared to 7.41 billion manats in late August 2016.

During the period, the amount of cash in circulation was 7.59 billion manats, while this figure was 6.33 billion manats as of September 1, 2016.

The ratio of cash in circulation to monetary base as of September 1, 2017 amounted to 71.2 percent, decreasing by 3.4 percentage points compared to late August 2016.
