By Azad Hasanli – Trend:

In January-September 2017, Azerbaijan’s Muganbank OJSC has issued 20 times more payroll debit cards to customers than during nine months of the last year, Anar Akhundov, director of Plastic Cards Department of the bank, told Trend Oct. 23.

He said that such growth was recorded after the law “On non-cash settlements,” which implies issuance of salary to employees in non-cash form, entered into force in Azerbaijan.

“Since early 2017, we have started implementation of the “Payroll Cards” project, and provided employees with payment cards with validity of three years,” said Akhundov. “These cards are issued free of charge and allow carrying out operations outside Azerbaijan. Heads of facilities received Visa Gold cards.”

At the same time, the bank will provide employees of facilities with Maestro payroll debit cards free of charge in the shortest period of time, he noted. The validity of these cards will be seven years, he added.

Muganbank OJSC was established in Azerbaijan in 1992.
