By Ali Mustafayev – Trend:

Officials of Kazakhstan’s Kostanay Region approved the region's 2018 draft budget.

The document forecasts the region's 2018 budget at 206 billion tenge (109 billion from the republican budget, 60 billion of the region’s own revenues, 6.5 billion of securities issuance, 30.6 billion of transfers and credits from the republican budget).

The expenditures of regional administrations will amount to 62 billion tenge.

The draft budget envisages 16 projects within PPP (public-private partnership) worth 5.6 billion tenge.

Most of the projects have a social focus and cover sports, education and health, as well as transport infrastructure.

The region's head, Archimedes Mukhambetov said road construction is one of the priorities of Kostanay.

"As you can see, our main expenses are the roads. In 2018, we will solve the most key and basic issues of roads. And I hope that in 2019-2020 the amount of funds spent on roads will decrease," said Mukhambetov.

Thus, the local executive body envisages 12.7 billion tenge for the development of transport infrastructure in 2018, including 3.9 billion tenge for regional roads and 8.8 billion tenge for settlement roads and streets.

($1 = 334 tenge on Dec. 9)
