Uzbekistan's Finance Ministry has dismissed more than 500 people, the Uzbek National News Agency (UzA) reports Dec. 27.
Earlier, 24 people were dismissed. Employees in the regional departments of the ministry were also sacked. Head of the Tashkent City Financial Control Department as well as his three deputies have been recently dismissed. Moreover, 23 employees, who held senior positions in the regional departments of the Finance Ministry, have been sacked.
Moreover, 100 employees were dismissed from regional financial control departments. Sixty-five employees were fired from treasury departments and 100 employees from the pension fund.
Addressing the parliament earlier, the Uzbek president criticized the work of the Finance Ministry.
