Ford didn’t send an appeal to Azerbaijan regarding car recalls, a source in the Nurgun Motors company, the official distributor of Ford in the country, told Trend Jan. 22.
Ford Motor Company didn’t send a vehicle identification numbers (VIN) list to Azerbaijan, according to the source.
Ford announced the recall of Kuga crossovers and C-Max minivans sold in Russia from May 2012 to December 2014. The cars are recalled due to local overheating of cylinder head. This may lead to the formation of cracks and high pressure oil leak, which may cause fire in the engine compartment.
The source added that different batches of cars arrive in various countries, depending on the order and needs of the market.
“Car models from the Russian batch didn’t arrive in Azerbaijan, therefore, recall of Ford cars is not expected,” the source said.
