Kazakhstan Railways increases export of cereals

In January 2018, Kazakh KTZ - Freight Transportation JSC increased volume of cereals transportation by 55 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Ninety six percent from the total amount of transported grain crops accounts for export, the press service of KTZ - Freight Transportation said in a message.

The company also transported 77 percent more flour than in January 2017. Further, 85 percent from the total amount of flour is for export.

In January 2018, the company additionally purchased more than 1,000 grain carriers. Currently the park of grain trucks of Kazakhstan Railways amounts to 10,800 units. In addition, the handling of train traffic at the interstate Saryagash station has been increased from 18 to 28 trains per day.

Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan announced that in 2018 the country intends to increase grain exports to 9 million tons.
