In January 2018, the number of vehicles exceeded 22.325 million in Turkey, which is 1.1 million more than in January 2017, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a report March 1.
According to the report, for the reporting period, 54.2 percent accounted for the share of cars, 20.2 percent - vans and trucks, 3.2 percent - minibuses and buses, 8.3 percent - tractors, 14.1 percent - motorcycles and other vehicles.
"In January 2018, 114,477 new vehicles were registered in Turkey," said the report.
According to the report, 22.2 million accounted for vehicles in Turkey in 2017, which is 5.4 percent more than in 2016.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. Models of Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN are currently assembled in Turkey.
Moreover, Turkey manufactures local brands of buses, such as BMC, Temsa and Otokar.
