Volume of property sold to foreigners in Turkey increases

Foreigners purchased 22,234 properties in Turkey in 2017, which is 22 percent more than in 2016, according to the report of the Turkish biggest bank - Turkiye Is Bankasi.

According to the report, revenues worth $4.6 billion were obtained from the sale of property to foreigners in 2017.

In 2017, 9,182 properties were sold in Istanbul, while 4,707 properties in Antalya.

The remaining 8,345 properties account for the share of other Turkish cities.

"In 2017, 3,805 Iranian citizens, 3,345 Saudi citizens and 1,078 Russian citizens purchased property in Turkey," the report said.

In 2017, 942 Azerbaijani citizens bought property in Turkey. The remaining 13,164 properties account for the share of citizens of other countries.

In January 2018, 97,000 properties were sold in Turkey, which is 1.7 percent more compared to January 2017.
